About the convention
East Africa's broadcasters, platforms and regulators, in Dar es Salaam.
2027 theme
Sustainable broadcasting in a diverse content economy: reaching and serving new audiences
With fast-growing mobile audiences and a strong Swahili-language content economy, broadcasters in Tanzania and across East Africa are pushing into digital, streaming and new forms of broadcast content distribution. The region is also navigating real pressures: the cost of digital terrestrial networks and signal distribution, shifting advertising budgets, regulatory change and the continuing move of younger audiences to online video and social platforms.
Now in its 6th edition, the Broadcasters & Digital Media Convention - East Africa 2027 brings together broadcasters, platforms, regulators, telcos and technology partners from Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Ethiopia and beyond in Dar es Salaam to share what is working and how to build broadcast businesses that last.
